The 9^th International Congress of Asian Society of Toxicology has been successfully held in Hangzhou, China / & Virtual

The 9^th International Congress of Asian Society of Toxicology (ASIATOX-IX) has been successfully held in Hangzhou, China / & in Virtual Congress globally on October 20-23, 2021. The International Congress of ASIATOX hosted by the member societies is a major objective of ASIATOX to facilitate and encourage scientific exchange and leadership among the toxicologists and counterparts in Asian region. The ASIATOX-IX, organized by the Chinese Society of Toxicology, was opened at 9 a.m. October 21, 2021. The Opening Ceremony was hosted by Professor Chunying Chen, the Secretary General of ASIATOX-IX congress, and ASIATOX. At the Congress opening ceremony, Prof. Ping-Kun Zhou and Dr. Lijie Fu delivered the welcoming speeches on behalf of the congress organizer, and the Chinese Society of Toxicology and the Asian Society of Toxicology, respectively. Then, Dr. Peter Di Marco, the President of the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX), delivered a speech of congratulations.

Prof. Ping-Kun Zhou (President of CST) and Dr. Lijie Fu (President of ASIATOX) served as the co-chair of the congress, Dr. Chao Liu (Secretary General of CST) and Professor Chunying Chen (Secretary General of ASIATOX) served as the co-secretary general of the congress. Prof. Hua Li (Vice president of CST) served as the chair of Congress Organization Committee, Prof. Yuepu Pu (Vice president of CST) and Professor Chunying Chen served as the co-chair of the Scientific Committee. Dr. Xiangjun Hu, Executive Deputy Secretary General of the CST, served as the chair of the Financial and Science & Technology Exhibition Committee. There are more than 600 registered official delegates globally attended the congress, they are from mainland China and other region of Asia, as well as USA and Europe, etc. The delegates from mainland China attended the congress on-site in Hangzhou Blossom Water Museum Hotel, Hangzhou city, the delegates overseas attended the Congress in Virtual simultaneously. There were nearly 9000 online viewers presented in the virtual congress. The congress received more than 420 abstracts.

The congress scientific program includes 8 plenary lectures, 12 Sessions in various toxicology topics with 56 oral presentations, and posters presentations. In addition, there are also multiple on-site sessions of symposia and forums: the 8^th Youth Forum of Science & Technology of CST, CST Veterinary Toxicology Forum, Respiratory Toxicology Forum, Regulatory Toxicology and Risk Assessment Forum, and Zhejiang Society of Toxicology Forum.

After the activities of congress scientific program, the Chinese society of toxicology has held an Awarding Ceremony. three scholars have been awarded the China Toxicology Outstanding Contribution Award, 4 scholars were awarded the Developmental Award of Alternative Toxicological Testing. CST has also announced the 2021 Campus Popular Science Competition Awards, issued the certificates of the Diplomat of Certified Toxicologist (DCST) to the representatives of the obtainers.

At the closing ceremony, Professor Yuepu Pu has made a summary report on the scientific activities and achievements, announced the awardees of the excellent presentations awards. The congress awarded 12 excellent papers and 15 excellent poster presentations. Finally, Dr. Lijie Fu has given a closing speech. The congress has been successfully closed.
