Dear Colleagues,

As you all know, the 9^th International Congress of Asian Society of Toxicology (ASIATOX-IX) was planned to be held in September 23 to 26, 2020 in Hangzhou, P. R. China. With the supports from our member societies and all of you, the Chinese Society of Toxicology (CST) and the Organizing Committee of the Congress had made significant progresses and the preparations went quite smoothly.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been closely monitoring the situation and was hoped that the Conference would to be held as we planned. While offline academic conferences have either been cancelled or postponed worldwide, we have to make a decision now under the current pandemic situation to ensure the conference successful. In fact, the current uncertainty around the COVID-19, the travel restrictions and governmental policies on control the epidemics in China and other countries makes impossible for us to hold the congress in September (or even this year). After listened to our member societies, we along with ASIATOX Council, felt we have to postpone the congress in the best interests of all society, speakers, exhibitors and our delegates. We understand this is still a great disappointment to all of us, although it might have been anticipated. It is quite clear there is no other option available to our society and the Congress.

During the last several months, the CST Executives and the Organizing Committee had met several times to evaluate situation/options and have proposed to the Conference to be rescheduled in October 20 to 23, 2021, as the new dates of the ASIATOX-IX in the same place, Blossom Water Museum Hotel, Hangzhou, P. R. CHINA. The ASIATOX Council has approved the proposal and encourages the Organizing Committee and CST to make every effort for a very successful ASIATOX Congress in 2021.

On behalf of the ASIATOX Council, Chinese Society of Toxicology (CST), and the Organizing Committee of ASIATOX-IX, we sincerely appreciate your supports provided in the preparations of the conference，and are cordially welcome you to the beautiful city Hangzhou in October 2021. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Conference.
